How much does a will cost?

Courtyard Solicitors are happy to prepare your will for a low fixed fee which is £250+VAT for individual Wills or £400+VAT for a couple. This is based on a straightforward will where everything is being left to 2 or 3 people with up to 4 specific other bequests. For more complex wills we can provide an estimate when we know your circumstances.

Courtyard Solicitors highly recommend making a will especially if you have a business and you expect it to form a part of your estate.

A will can also really be beneficial if your family position is complicated; perhaps you have children with a previous partner, or you want to make special arrangements for children or a family member with a disability.

You may wish to think about what you want to leave and who you want to leave it to prior to arranging your meeting with our will writing team.

By using Courtyard Solicitors to prepare your will, you are in safe hands, as Courtyard Solicitors are accredited by the Law Society and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, so you can be confident there will be no mistakes. Common problems with home-made wills, like using the wrong witnesses or forgetting to have it signed mean your will is not valid when you die. By using Courtyard Solicitors the complicated bits are covered. The law surrounding inheritances, including Inheritance Tax and trusts, is complicated. We are familiar with the law and will be able to help you make the most effective choices.

Your will is stored safely by us. If we prepare your will, we will store the original for you free of charge.

By using Courtyard Solicitors to prepare your will, we will explain your options to help you make decisions about your will and give advice that is confidential and puts your best interests first. We will write and check your will according to your instructions.

Courtyard Solicitors are happy to act as executors of your will in the event of your death to ensure that your the arrangements for your estate are carried out as requested.

If you would like your will prepared please email our specialist department who will be more tan happy to help.
