Conveyancing during the pandemic

January 2021

Courtyard Solicitors are progressing matters within our normal service levels, however during the current COVID-19 pandemic, many of our staff are working from home in accordance with the government guidelines. There are currently increased levels of demand and issues affecting many aspects of the transaction process which are requiring greater resources, as a consequence, we may not always be able to reply to email and phone calls as quickly as we ordinarily do.  We appreciate your patience and understanding in this regard.

If your matter is urgent, please telephone the office on 0208 946 9466 or 01803 865 282 or email us legal@courtyardsolicitors.co.uk

PLEASE NOTE that in these unprecedented times and there are many external factors affecting our residential conveyancing that may well result in a delay to matters.
These include:
1.      Delays with surveys.
2.      Delays with lenders issuing mortgage offers.
3.      Delays with searches.
4.      Delays with Royal Mail.
5.      Parties involved in a chain dealing with higher than usual volumes, increased numbers of people working remotely, reduced staff due to furlough or having to quarantine, social distancing limitations in the work environment or even closed.
6.      Not all parties to the transaction using technology to streamline processes.

The government's guidance on home moving during the COVID-19 crisis which is regularly updated can be found here - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/government-a...

As a consequence, there will be an inevitable delay with transactions, and we appreciate your understanding at this time.
Everyone’s health and wellbeing are paramount at this time and things are changing almost daily.  Please follow the up to date government advice.
